The function of the quantity surveying

Preparing cost estimates, Bill of Quantities and Schedule of materials.

Vetting of estimates and Bill of Quantities, professional fees, and claims of all Consultants.

Preparation of valuations and vetting of Contractors’ Invoices on all projects.

Cost planning and advice.

Site measurements and records.

Cost control - Assessing and Monitoring variations orders, site-instructions, fluctuation claims, etc.

Advise on cash-flow returns, monitoring expenditure and progress against schedule, etc.

Analysis and reporting on tenders, scrutinizing tender reports prepared by Consultants and advising on selection of Contractors.

Responsible for the training of Quantity Surveying Technicians and preparing confidential reports on them for the Director.

Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Physical Planning.
